This paper presents an analysis of multiple applications of evaluative and methodological strategies in the Cell Biology course of the Instituto Pedagógico de Caracas, from 1997 to 2012. As data for the quantitative analysis were taken skills contained in the records and scores on tests of theory, and, for qualitative analysis, were processed discussions by students both in theory and in the laboratory, using the content analysis method. The work is of investigative action because the courses are handled with intact subjects. The results show that the strategies applied in this period (simulations, simulations-instructional games, processors of information, seminars, software, stories, etc.) acceptably helped in understanding the processes which were applied and with the ability to integrate knowledge with everyday content.
