The objective was to develop an instructional proposal for understanding written discourse in middle school students of the UEN José Félix Blanco. Approval of the holistic research cycle (Hurtado, 2006) with the model of Muller (2003) was performed. Field research was to identify whose central framework comprehension and reading skills of students who were deficient by failing to identify main and supporting ideas in texts, demonstrating not possess skills for reading and writing simple ideas. We designed and implemented a print medium entitled “I listen, I read, express. Live “. Evidencing that significant cognitive experiences can bring changes in their reading.
