Venezuela as a megadiverse country creating spaces for the debate about their social value as natural heritage In this sense, and considering that a social representation is a cultural and transcendental figure evoked from generation to generation; the following study is presented which was based on the “analysis of social representations that the MPI JMSM´s students have about medicinal plants to generate action lines that promote the sustainable use of this resource”. In this sense, the data collection technique used was the free evocation and association, analyzed by frequencies and the statistical technique of Escalerización. The study showed that the most important and general representation turns consisting of two notions: the reasons for using and the properties. The aspects constituted a contribution to the planning of lines of actionthat involves a particular approach considering the weaknesses found in the study.
