ALVARADO, Gelvis; RIVAS, Solamí y OCHOA, Marlene. Preliminary results of application of an Instructional Design with approach to Science Technology and Society (STS) for the teaching of the Nervous System. Revista de Investigación [online]. 2014, vol.38, n.82, pp.13-36. ISSN 1010-2914.
This research was based on the application of a science- technology and society (STS) focused instructional design, for teaching the content of the nervous system. The work, set in a feasible project, was applied to students of sophomore year, in order to assess its effectiveness in three (3) phases, which consisted of: (a) applying a pre-test; (b) four class sessions, and (c) applying a post test of knowledge. The results were collected and analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The pretest shows that students have misconceptions about the content and the use of drugs. The post-test shows that the majority of students modified their alternative conceptions; also seems evident that the strategies used are appropriate; students also showed a great motivation when handled attitudinal content, contributing to learning that eventually can be significant.
