The purpose of the study was to determine the state of the art of the first level of Physical Education as a subject in Secondary Education, from the perspective of Curriculum management in School District No. 1 in Caracas. The design of this study was non-experimental, descriptive and within the scope of field research. The results show that: (1) there is no official program for the first level of Secondary Education (2) there are contradictory approaches between what teachers say, plan and do, (3) teachers are free to decide on objectives and contents producing a disorganized course of action. The most important recommendation, among others, was to develop the physical education program as soon as possible for the first level of Secondary Education.
