MARTINEZ, Marvis; PEREZ, María Edith; OJEDA, Egleé y ASCANIO, Antonieta. Epistemological view of science and pedagogical practice: a longitudinal study with master teachers in the Teaching of Biology and Chemistry. Revista de Investigación [online]. 2016, vol.40, n.89, pp.123-138. ISSN 1010-2914.
The purpose was to identify the epistemological views of science prevailing in participants Masters in Teaching Biology (EB) and Chemical Education (EQ) during their pedagogical praxis. The study arises due to the influence of these conceptions in teaching driving teachers and their possible effect on the way students will approach to learning science. Qualitative methodology, longitudinal design, includes two parts: at the start of compulsory courses and during the culmination of the work of degree. The instruments used were: questionnaire, interview and videotaping. Triangulation categories validated by expert judgment arose. They suggest that the predominant epistemological visions participants are compatible with logical positivism, empiricism and in some cases with eclectic positions on the nature of science.
