The purpose of the research was to propose a modernization strategy for Genetic Laboratory Practices based on modeling and digital photography as a technological resource. It is of the projective type, responds to a feasible project with field design, supported by documentary research. It was based on curricular aspects such as relevance, innovation, quality and relevance, considering three pedagogical moments. Preliminary results of the evaluation indicated a 72% acceptance to incorporate theoreticalconceptual aspects, 53.8% according to attitudinal contents and 83.3% acceptance for procedural content. Valuable opinion indicated that it is innovative and incorporates accessible technology. The success of the proposal will depend on the consensual implementation of the activities of each pedagogical moment, maintaining the balance between them. The application of digital photography through cell phones showed the potential to be incorporated in other biology practices through the creative adaptation of teachers.
