TOLEDO, Valentina; ALVAREZ, Jean Carlos y NIEVES, Sarahy. Relationship between the treads of the visitors and on the path soil compaction of Sabas Nieves in the Waraira Repano National Park(Ávila). Revista de Investigación [online]. 2017, vol.41, n.92, pp.185-212. ISSN 1010-2914.
In the Waraira Repano National Park (Ávila), the effect of the produced by the pressure of human feet for the movement of people on the path Sabas Nieves, Subida El Diablo, has not been reported. The penetration resistance to different depths and some physical, chemical, and biological properties of the soil, with the objective of evaluating the possible deterioration of the same was quantified. Analyses were: pH, electrical conductivity, gravimetric moisture, organic carbon and basal respiration. Through statistical analysis, significant differences among the transects showed patterns and controls. There is degradation of the structure in the high values of compaction > 2MPa, with consequent low vegetation cover, low contribution of organic matter and nutrient deficiency along the line of tread. In the transects controls, the soil is less susceptible to erosion because they are invaded by the forage grasses, which comply with ecological functions.
