The Research’s Line Knowledge and Inquiry (LINCOIN, in Spanish) arises as a response to the low rate of research production that characterizes the Venezuelan society. They shall coordinate work related to the generation of knowledge related to teaching and learning of the investigation and ways of approaching knowledge developed during the implementation process of inquiry in different contexts. This paper outlines issues related to the philosophical basis for the research training and the need for open spaces to promote jobs that serve this school in higher education as in other levels of education Venezuela . Likewise, they elucidate the elements that characterize the research as a staff and as a professional activity. It is expected that work carried out within the LINCOIN to stimulate and refine the skills to find an enhancer of development so that members can act responsibly, skill and competence in settings where the event takes place human and social conditions demand that rebalanced the quality of life of those who inhabit the world today.
