Abstract

ALVARADO MARTINEZ, Hugo  and  RETAMAL PEREZ, Lidia. Binomial approach for the normal: An Experience of Reflection on Practice. Paradígma [online]. 2010, vol.31, n.2, pp.89-108. ISSN 1011-2251.

This paper describes a reflection process on the teaching of statistics at university level. It also discusses the difficulties of understanding the binomial approximation of the normal distribution, as a result of the teaching practice. As a first step, a historical study and analysis of textbooks is considered, as well as the elements that shape and influence professional issues. As a result, an implementation design is proposed through simulated representations to facilitate the progressive understanding and generalization to the study of central limit theorem.
