Abstract

FONSECA CASCIOLI, Neimar  and  PEREIRA DE HOMES, Lilia. The curricular evaluation in the University of Zulia: Cases Faculties of Odontolgy and Sciences Economic and Social. Paradígma [online]. 2011, vol.32, n.1, pp.7-31. ISSN 1011-2251.

The objective of this investigation was to analyze the curriculum evaluation in the Faculties of Dentistry (FACO) and Economic and Social Sciences (FCES) of the University of Zulia (LUZ), period 2000-2008. The methodology consisted of the official document revision, application of interviews to actors nails of the curriculum task in LUZ, Directors of an institution, Heads of Departments and Coordinators of the Commissions of Curriculum of those faculties for such period. The results show that the evaluation varies in each faculty and including in the schools of a same faculty as far as the dimensions: origin, actors, type, object, strategy and frequency of the evaluation. In FACO a culture of evaluation consolidated from 1996 is observed and in FCES the evaluation processes are sporadic and with little continuity in the studied managements. One concludes that LUZ does not have a policy of systematic and permanent curriculum evaluation nor evaluative model uniform for all the faculties. Curriculum is one of the main strategies for the university transformation that requires a revision meticulous, constant and aligned between the planning and the execution to fulfil the objectives institutional.
