This study was conducted in the framework of the Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (2005-2014). The objective of designing and validating a guide directed to Preschool teachers. The research was exploratory, descriptive, documentary and field work, conformed by three phases: diagnostic, design and validation. The diagnosis involved 60 preschool teachers and 11 specialists. The design of the guide was structured based on the opinion of interviewees, the contents of the preschool curriculum, the potential of the Caricuao Zoo (PZC) and the dimensions of Sustainable Development (DS). The validation was conducted for a teacher with a group of 16 preschool children using the theme of farm animals, using strategies in the classroom, a visit to the contact area at the PZC and as a closing activity she simulated a market with farm products. The validation showed that the guide is easy to use and it let to understand the concept of DS in a progressive method. The teacher deal with the complexity planning the content and strategies initially directed to the natural dimension, followed by the socio-cultural, scientific, technological and ultimately the economic. The educational and reflexive challenge consisted of connect simultaneously all the DS dimensions from a selected topic.
