This study had as intention examine the used criteria and the procedures applied by end the university students to look for information in Internet. An exploratory diagnosis was realized to 38 university students, of Pre-school education of a public Venezuelan university of educational formation by means of the application of a mixed questionnaire of nine questions. The collected information was processed in agreement by criteria of analysis of content and ride to percentages. The results reveal that the students use the Web one as the first source to look for information, though for his selection they use very elementary criteria; while the procedures that they apply adjust to standardized bosses, since for example, to come to a generic seeker (Google), of which they take the information that appears of first in the consulted texts, without taking in consideration such elements as validity and credibility. Given the dimension of the problem is recommended to propitiate an institutional politics to develop the Literacy Informacional of the students so that they assume more responsible and critical attitudes in the use of the TICs since they will be they, in a future the responsible actors of the task of teaching.
