The context of the reform of higher education in European universities from the Bologna process started in 1999, asked institutions to start establishing common points of reference for their resumes, by axis development competencies from academics, that resulted in the normalization and promotion of an understanding common and resulted in the Tuning project. Soon after, the universities of Latin America, among them the Brazilian, expressed agreement on the European model, through a proposal of the ideal reformists of alignment under the direction of the University of Deusto, Spain. As a result, higher education in Latin America supported by similar to the European model curriculum convergences developed common points of reference for curriculum in the region which is based on skills, General and specific, subdivided in different areas, including the area of education. This text discusses features and areas of the project Alfa Tuning Latin America, specifically in the area of education in Brazilian universities. The work showed that the absence of a common area of higher education, as in the European model, designates one of the obstacles for their full commitment and understanding of its developments.
