The aim of this paper is to document, discuss and analyse the importance of geometrical demonstrations as problem resolution strategy. To do this, under the heading "problem resolution" we approach the intellectual activities on which must be supported school mathematics. In the section of geometrical demonstrations, is evident how students of secondary school have the opportunity to become familiar with the logical deductive formal process, also we describe the current situation in the teaching of geometrical demonstrations, we outline a model for such demonstrations and emphasize the educational value that this intellectual task have on the education of new republicans.
