LACUEVA, Aurora. Project based learning in the high shool: Eight teachers speak. Paradígma [online]. 2015, vol.36, n.1, pp.110-160. ISSN 1011-2251.

This is the second phase of a study whose general purposes are to determine relevant characteristics of project based learning (PBL) experiences in the high school, by means of reports of involved teachers; to highlight reflections and evaluative considerations on the subject brought forward by these teachers; and to make proposals for improvement. In the first phase, already published, I applied a questionnaire to 84 teachers with experience in project work. In this phase, I interviewed eight teachers, and performed a comparative analysis based on five categories. I also organized abridged presentations of their reports. There is variety in the models of projects developed by the teachers studied, although the model of the Ministry of Education does predominate. In spite of the variety, the investigative character of the initiative needs strengthening. Besides, teachers point out that it is difficult to integrate subjects during projects. They put forward some factors involved in this difficulty, and reflect on other features of teacher work which act as obstacles for the development of PBL. The interviewees note important contributions of PBL to the education of students and the preparation of teachers and, all the obstacles notwithstanding, reassert their interest in PBL for the future.
