This work brings a reflection on the teaching of science and alternative conceptions, which are nothing more than templates that are part of the common sense of the students and are not accepted by the scientific community. Based on historical dimensions searching debate about the importance of epistemology to the teaching of Sciences in the pursuit of alternative conceptions for the transposition of the knowledge accumulated historically scientific conceptions. It is understood in this way, the educational process that analyzes your student as a social individual, has in addition to the need for new methods of teaching, showing important to discuss the historical formation of knowledge, study how it was formulated the knowledge can help raise new propositions for the future, thereby, the epistemology of science as well as the thoughts of his great creators like , Bachelard, Popper, Kuhn, among others, as well as our century scholars understand the importance of the history of science for teaching.
