Resumo

In this paper is about teacher´s conceptions of writing in the first grade of Elementary Education. The research It is situated in a school in the province of Malleco (Chile). Also, It made comparisons with conceptions of children in the first year of the same institution. The methodology used was qualitative. For collecting information Is used assessment of writing of students, classroom observations, and semi-structured interviews. The results revealed a conception of writing based on a model skills. The process affects the students losing the meaning of writing learning. This process limits the children to write in a mechanized way, motivated primarily by the qualification, away from the production of texts.
