ALARCON PUENTES, Johnny y MONZANT GAVIDIA, José Luis. Social Sciences, History and Cultura. Building New Theoretical Trends. Revista de Ciencias Humanas y Sociales [online]. 2004, vol.20, n.45, pp.13-22. ISSN 1012-1587.
The objective of this paper, the partial result of documentary research, based on the theoretical expositions of Roger Chartier and Clifford Geertz, has been to analyze the pertinance of social sciences that break with the traditional positivist paradigm, and which contribute to defining a transubjective dialogue. objectivity, subjectivity, truth, cultural relativism and representations. These are some of the categories submited to re-interpretation as a way to reframe an analysis that allows us to re-assume the collective conscience from and for "Our America". The conclusion is that social sciences must look for their critical redefinition beyond the postulates of positivism, and from there a novel and critical historical-anthropological exposition is set out and is developed around the fundamental principles of the interpretative social science of socio-cultural facts.
