The present work tries to understand the problem of scientific explanation, centering on one of the models that has been gradually monopolizing the attention of most philosophers of science: the pragmatic model of Bas Van Fraassen. The most relevant aspects of this model will be examined in order to define what a “correct explanation" is, as well as his disagreements with attempts to propose a universally valid schematic model for explaining all the sciences.
