The current situation and tendencies in academic journals. Opcion [online]. 2009, vol.25, n.59, pp.139-147. ISSN 1012-1587.

This study presents a reflection on the strengths of academic journals in their taking-off phase and argues about their current exhaustion based on consideration of the number of downloads for articles on the dedicated Internet portals. This is a fundamental indicator of the impact of such serial publications that would justify the effort made on the subject. Elements are contributed for interpreting the university dynamic that would be associated with the situation.
