Resumen
GONZALEZ URDANETA, Eglée Coromoto. Extralinguistic variables in anomalous segmentation by children from Maracaibo. Opcion [online]. 2009, vol.25, n.60, pp.81-96. ISSN 1012-1587.
The purpose of this investigation is to determine the incidence of extralinguistic variables in anomalous segmentations in the writing of children studying basic education. A data collection instrument was applied to a sample of 120 students divided according to age, sex and socioeconomic level. Data was recorded using the linguistically-oriented database management program SHOEBOX. This made it possible to process the data using descriptive statistics to verify the proposed hypotheses. Results indicate that the variables under consideration affect anomalous segmentation, confirming the established hypotheses. Finally, recommendations are offered to strengthen the conventional segmentation of written language.
