Resumen
ESPINA, Gioconda y RAKOWSKI, Cathy A. ¿Movimiento de mujeres o mujeres en movimiento? El caso Venezuela. CDC [online]. 2002, vol.19, n.49, pp.31-48. ISSN 1012-2508.
The authors draw on theories developed by Verta Taylor, Suzanne Staggenborg and Sonia Alvarez regarding the transformation, decline and success of women´s movements over long periods of time. The authors ask whether or not we can speak of a women´s movement in Venezuela, characterized by solidarity in its composition and day-to-day activism, or if we should speak of a core group of activists who have sustained a feminist discourse and principles between periods of mobilization that some theorists and activists refer to as a womens movement. The period discussed is 1990 to 2001 although the paper also presents an overview of womens organizing before 1990
Palabras clave : Core group of activists; Social movement.
