With Hanna Arendt´s notion of plurality as starting point, the ambiguos side of her concept of equality is developed, highlighting its worth for the feminist theory. In the same vein, the concepts of equality and difference are compared, pointing out with Katharine MacKinnon that the latter neither adds up to inequality nor is it a paradigmatic proposal to be reached. It must be understood, from a political view, as implying dominance. Therefore, it is in the political realm where the equality/difference issue could be solved as equivalence, as equity: which is not to wipe away the differences nor to make them the heart of the matter.
