Resumen

CASTELLANI, ANA  y  SCHORR, MARTÍN. Argentina: convertibilidad, crisis de acumulación y disputas en el interior del bloque de poder económico. CDC [online]. 2004, vol.21, n.57, pp.55-82. ISSN 1012-2508.

The present article analyzes the factors that converged in the crisis of the «Convertibility model» that burst in Argentina by the end of 2001. Two hypothesis are proposed by the authors to explain this phenomenon. One, that the crisis was the consequence of the inherent restrictions of the «model», and of the struggle between the dominant sctors of the economy. Second, that these different fractions managed to legitimate both their «diagnostic» of the crisis, and what they presented as the «only» viable solutions. Even though the different diagnostics and solutions were related to contrary socio-economic interests, all of them coincided in that the core of the economic adjustment needed to overcome the crisis should consists in regressive policies that affected the life conditions of the popular sectors.

Palabras clave : Accumulation pattern; Dominant sectors; Business elite; Financial valorization of capital; State; Convertibility plan.
