The control and well-balanced growth of the urban spaces in the liquid supermodernity represents nowadays one of the most important challenges that not only municipal but also state governments must face in all the cities of the world. Latin America, with its features associated to under-development, deals with processes of space transformation in many of its cities. In Mexico this evolution has implied not only the widening of some of the main metropolitan cities, but also the impossibility of controlling that development. Hence the importances of advancing in the knowledge of approaches like the one of «urban imaginaries», considering the possibility of incorporating them to the process of site planning.
