The complexity of social sciences finds in the new perspectives the possibility to reflect and to recognize the multidimensionality, multicausality, non linearity and temporal irreversibility proper to them; elements not easily evident with the Cartesian theoretical-methodological focus, being therefore the scientific efforts in those areas always deficient. The present work gathers some modeling exercises embedded in these perspectives-through mathematical apparatus, simulation based on agents and simulation by system dynamics-and the evaluation of empiric data with innovative tools.
