This research aimed to determine market-related key or strategic factors regarding SMEs in Venezuela. The methodology was field, descriptive and explanatory methods, based on the information gathering instrument Gesecon-EEN and the prospective structural method. The results showed the generic key factors of market economic management for SMEs in the country. In the short term: allocation of production to foreign markets, planning and business organization, competing for innovation embodied in production, and prices control. In the medium run, besides allocating production to foreign markets and maintain proper planning and business organization, common factors in both the short and medium term, there are the characteristics of the products generated by the organization.
