Productive restructuring process is one of the changes undertaken by the aluminum industry in Pará, bringing new technologies and increased production; as well as reduction of jobs, outsourcing and changes in working conditions. From denunciations about illnesses experienced by workers of this productive sector, this paper asks how management does about safety/health of workers relating to productive restructuring faced in production of primary aluminum and its impact on the subjectivity of workers. Guided by the Psychodynamics of Work, the study opted for a qualitative research approach which allowed conducting 44 interviews with workers, trade unionists, technicians and managers of the company under study. It was observed the suffering of the injured/diseased due to disrupted lives and feelings of worthlessness/abandonment, associated with work organization and how is the management of workers’ safety/health.
