RODRIGUEZ ROJAS, José E. La cuestión agraria marxista y la política agraria venezolana, 1950-2008. CDC [online]. 2013, vol.30, n.84, pp.29-55. ISSN 1012-2508.

This paper aims to analyze the influence of Venezuelan agrarian policy on the agrarian structure in 1950-2008 and the controversy promoted by the radical left on this subject. It is supported on a periodization based on the changes in the agrarian policy. The debate on the agrarian question among the so called Marxist classic thinkers becomes the framework. In conclusion, the Marxist left has evolved into two paradigms. One related to the peasant path, which resulted in the expansion of a family farm based production; and another related to the Stalinist collectivization. Until 1998 the agrarian policy promoted a «farmer» path questioned by the radical left that assumed the collectivization paradigm. These ideas influenced the agrarian policy since 2001, unsuccessfully seeking to break down the «farmer» path, and damaging the productive activity.
