This paper proposes a different interpretation of the causes of growth and recession in Argentina during the 1993-2009 period. Beginning with Marx’s reproduction schemes, we organized the heterodox approaches to the cycle of production and employment in two spheres: that of production, in which the value is generated, and other related to the circulation of goods, where the value is carried out. We will discuss the contributions of the theorists of underconsumption and of the Keynesian multiplier-accelerator cycle, the effects of the distributive conflict on the benefits (from both a Marxist and a Post-Keynesian point of view), and the fluctuations generated in the over accumulation of capital, in the sectoral disparities, and in the dynamic of «stop and go», typical of Latin American economies.
