HALUANI, Makram. La tecnología aviónica militar en los conflictos asimétricos: problemáticas implicaciones del uso de los drones letales. CDC [online]. 2014, vol.31, n.85, pp.23-67. ISSN 1012-2508.

The modern remote control aerial systems, or drones, are characterized by a fast-paced development and complexity in mechatronic, computing and radial technologies, producing devices that are increasingly varied and sophisticated in their design, multifunctionality and applications. The use of lethal drones already represents a viable and attractive option for diverse countries engaged in asymmetric geocultural conflicts. This essay examines the problematic implications of using lethal drones in asymmetric geocultural and geopolitical conflicts, as is the case in the ongoing U.S. military/drone campaigns in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, and Somalia. It specifically seeks to demonstrate the inherent political, constitutional and ethical shortcomings of drone use policies aimed to achieve geopolitical objectives.

Palavras-chave : Military drones; Asymmetric geocultural conflicts.
