ALONSO, Sara; RAMOS DE CASTRO, Edna e GARRETA CHINDOY, María Ernestina. Interés en torno al agua en la Panamazonia: grandes represas y estrategias empresariales. CDC [online]. 2017, vol.34, n.94, pp.046-076. ISSN 2443-468X.
From a geopolitical and /or political power perspective, the following has been observed over the last few years in the Amazonia: a set of strategies that bring to light a growing interest in water as a strategic resource of exploitation by different markets and for numerous uses, that is to say, as a «major economic asset» in dispute to expand its place and position in the market and/or in the criteria that define a hierarchy in the production of goods. This paper discusses the processes of change referred to as «development corridors» at the governmental levels, focusing on the Brazilian Amazon, in the area of the border between Bolivia and Colombia. With special interest in understanding the extent to which and in what conditions a water market is generated, we examine Brazilian water policy and establish connections between that policy and the objectification of the water crisis and the interest of international corporations in water as «New economic resource», in a context of tensions and mobilizations in defense of the «common goods»
