This article demonstrates the development of interdisciplinary organizational capabilities in artisanal and small miners for adapt them to the formal economic sector. This, through an Action Research strategy, applied in 80 mining production units, scattered in 10 Colombia’s states. The qualitative results represents the findings and knowledge generated in the field with the interactants, in the stages of planning and acting, cataloging six disciplinary sub-areas in mining, ten in environment and eight in business. A year later quantitatively, such miner’s actions were monitored and evaluated, obtaining performances by area of 53 per cent, 61 per cent and 56 per cent respectively. Which validate the method as possible path for reach a sustainable development for the sector.
