Abstract

The complex situation of contemporary geographical area shows strong contrasts between city and countryside. One cause is the transfer of capital in the organization of rural areas, where traditional forces coexist with modern initiatives, there are still its traditional difficulties. This analysis found rural reality and the existing transmissive model of teaching geography. Methodologically, a literature review to address issues such as the rural setting in the globalized world, the problems of rural areas and education, rural reality and educational exchange and currency option. We conclude that explain rural geographical reality, it should reflect in retrospect on how the field has been used and implications for teaching geography to renew its formative work by encouraging participation and social role, claiming the experience of farmers, teachers and students to study geographically local community and encourage significant changes.
