Waste management and solid waste is a complex task that has become a common problem in countries developing due to many factors, such as population growth, the economic crisis has forced cut public spending and maintain low in the urban cleaning service rates, institutional weakness and poor health education and citizen participation (Jaramillo, 2000). The objective was to propose strategies to optimize the comprehensive management of waste in the municipality of Miranda Sucre state. Physical and spatial aspects, population distribution, current land use and integrated management of waste made up slopes, roads, population distribution, generation, collection and disposal of garbage were evaluated. The results suggest that due to the physical-spatial characteristics of the study area and how the waste management, where there is any competition between national and municipal executive is performed is important to implement strategies such as generated in this investigation directed towards the development and treatment of waste and solid waste, education of the population on the environment, locating new areas such as transfer stations or landfills to minimize health impacts from the accumulation of waste and residues. Remarkably, a significant contribution to the geography of the research is the regionalization or dicriminización zoned for addressing the problem.
