Given the challenges of teaching Sociology in Basic Education, this article discusses the Research-Intervention method and presents an experience of pedagogical intervention. The aim was to participate in the process of recontextualizing content, promoting the assimilation of theoretical concepts and categories in reflection about social reality. Using a qualitative approach, the study reviewed the literature on Intervention-Research and applied the method to educational practices of the “Cinema and Society” project, implemented in a public school in the state of Espírito Santo. By mobilizing audiovisual resources, the intervention aimed to recontextualize content, making teaching more dynamic and meaningful for students. The results demonstrate that audiovisual resources, as mediation tools, can enrich the debate, stimulate interest, and contribute to a critical-reflective education of students. This allows the work of different contents and theoretical-analytical concepts connected to reflection on social reality and the experience of the subjects.
