HERNANDEZ ROMERO, Yasmín y HERNANDEZ ROMERO, Yissel. Mobility for care in the periphery. The case of the El Nido Urban Housing Complex. ESPACIO ABIERTO [online]. 2025, vol.34, n.2, pp.52-72. Epub 15-Mayo-2025. ISSN 1315-0006. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.15110042.
This research analyzes the conditions under which mobility for care is developed in peripheral urban contexts, using the El Nido urban housing complex, in the municipality of Zumpango, State of Mexico, as a case study. Methodologically, various sources were used, including official documents about the regulation of urban housing complexes in the State of Mexico, as well as the authorization agreements of the complex in question; Field trips were carried out to diagnose the morphology of the place, using as support the guides for the analysis of daily equipment, relationship spaces and daily network proposed by Ciocoletto and Col-lectiu Punt 6. Additionally, ten interviews were conducted with female residents of the complex. The case study allows us to observe the obstacles in mobility for care when living in the periphery, but also the differentiation that exists within the complex.
