This article aims to study the impacts of hate speech and misinformation in contemporary armed conflicts through an analysis of the online hate speech ecosystem. In light of this, it seeks to answer the research question: To what extent do the phenomena of misinformation and online hate speech impact armed conflicts today? The study employs a deductive approach, starting from a general overview of discourse and identity formation in the era of hyperconnected society, as well as the factors influencing digital activity, in order to analyze the effects of extremist discourse in the digital age, particularly its relationship with the escalation of armed conflicts. The methodological approach used was exploratory, combined with bibliographic and documentary research techniques. Based on the study conducted, it was concluded that adopting an approach focused on analyzing the risks arising from the digital environment is essential to ensure the safety and dignity of affected communities, as these risks also impact war zones.
