Resumen
IRIARTE MORENO, Emilio. On the centrality of the classics from a constructivist-structuralist perspective. ESPACIO ABIERTO [online]. 2025, vol.34, n.3, pp.90-100. Epub 04-Sep-2025. ISSN 1315-0006. https://doi.org/10.5281/10.5281/zenodo.15670722.
The reason for this work is to develop a proposal on how to understand and frame the debate on the place of classics in sociology from a constructivist-structuralist framework (Bourdieu, 2000). It is part of the debate established by Alexander's writing (1991). With which it is recognized that this and related texts become consecration processes for the formation of various canons. So, it is recognized that establishing a single canon comes from the struggle to establish what is legitimate in the field of sociology. But the most relevant thing about this debate lies in the underlying question: what type of (sociological) science do we do? With this, it is proposed to recognize the plurality of discourses as a manifestation of the multiple forms of sociological practice.
