CHIANG VEGA, María; GOMEZ FUENTEALBA, Nelly y SIGONA IGOR, Marcelo. Psychosocial risk factors, stress and their relationship with performance: a comparison between health centers. Salud de los Trabajadores [online]. 2013, vol.21, n.2, pp.111-128. ISSN 1315-0138.
This study presents an analysis of the psychosocial risk factors that can end up in job stress, and their relationship with performance in Chilean Public Health Centers. The sample consisted of 141 workers in both urban and rural health centers. The instrument used was the Job Content Questionnaire (JCQ); reliability coefficients were between 0.55 and 0.83 considered acceptable indicators of internal consistency of the scales. The results indicated that workers from in both urban and rural health centers wouldfall in the second quadrant of Karaseks model, reflecting "active work", characterized by elevated job demands but an elevated degree of job control, turning the result into a challenge. However, technicians had less job control with respect to other health team members; hence, it would be important to focus preventive interventions on this group.
