Abstract
VALDERRAMA, Gustavo; URBINA DE NAVARRO, Caribay and GOLDWASSER, Mireya R. Dry reforming of methane over Co catalysts obtained of perovskite type oxides. Saber [online]. 2013, vol.25, n.1, pp.90-96. ISSN 1315-0162.
A series of perovskite-type precursors (La1-xSrxCoO3 with x = 0; 0,2; 0,4) ) were studied which were prepared by the auto-combustion method and characterized by techniques such as X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), specific surface area (BET), temperature-programmed reduction (TPR) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). After reduction, their catalytic activity toward CO2 reforming of CH4 was tested in a fixed bed reactor at 1073 ºK. X-ray diffraction patterns revealed the formation of the perovskite structure in all samples prepared. It was found that the activation route occurs through intermediary species producing Co0 nanoparticles highly dispersed in the La2O2CO3-SrO solid matrix. These species are responsible of the high activity and inhibit the coke deposition despite the severe reaction conditions used.
