Spatial-temporal variation of density and dry biomass of the triagonal clam tivela mactroides (bivalvia: veneridae) from la guardia inlet, Margarita Island, Venezuela. The triagonal clam Tivela mactroides was very abundant in sandy beaches in north-east of Venezuela coastline, where is submitted to an open access fisheries. To see the ecological and economical importance and it desigual extraction in the area, we estimated density and dry biomass of T. mactroides in La Guardia inlet, Margarita Island, Venezuela. The samples were taken with a core, monthly and processed in the laboratory. Density was estimated as ind/m2 and dry biomass as g/m2. Density was presents difference in space and time, where the mayor value was to central sector (102 ind/m2) and the minor value to the occidental sector (19 ind/m2). The total annual dry biomass, shows a value of 901 g/m2/year in La Guardia inlet, being variable during the year and between stations maybe conditioned to physiologic changes from the organisms as a response of environmental parameters which depends to the stationed upwelling effect in the northeaster coast of Venezuela.
