PEROZA DE MARIN, María Dolores. Organizational Learning in the Universidad de Oriente, campus Sucre, Cumaná, I Semester of 2012. Saber [online]. 2014, vol.26, n.1, pp.57-66. ISSN 1315-0162.
Organizational learning is a continuous process of strategic use, generator of innovation via the empowerment of talent and intelligence of individuals, which leads to building learning organizations. This study aims to diagnose the organizational learning capacity in the Universidad de Oriente, Sucre Campus, Cumana, according to the perception of two groups of teachers assigned to the School of Sciences and the School of Humanities and Education. It was based on the theoretical approach of Watkins and Marsick (1993.1996) on the dimensions of learning in studying organizations. This is a non-experimental descriptive research. The work was performed with two populations, one in the school of Sciences conformed by 177 teachers and another in the School of Humanities and Education conformed by 136 teachers. By stratified sampling method two samples were obtained, one composed of 49 teachers from the School of Sciences and onother of 46 teachers from the School of Humanities and Education. The instrument used was a questionnaire on the Dimensions of the Learning Organization, designed by Watkins and Marsick (1997), in a version translated, adapted and validated for use in the Venezuelan university realm by Mayorca et al. (2007). The results show that organizational learning capacity in the Universidad de Oriente, Sucre Campus , Cumaná, is located in a lower average range. It was also determined that there is no significant difference between organizational learning in the samples from the School of Sciences and the School of Humanities and Education.
