Abstract
SANCHEZ CARRENO, José Amador. Discussions on the univertiry curriculum: Realities and challenges. Saber [online]. 2014, vol.26, n.1, pp.68-73. ISSN 1315-0162.
The purpose of this essay is to analyze the prevailing curriculum practice in our universities; a practice centered on a training model characterized by the presence of fragmented curriculum designs, mainly structured on encyclopedic programs that emphasize just information acquisition and the accumulation of reductionist content ignoring the current complexity. Alongside these statements, the university claims for a curriculum that could ensure the cooperative development of knowledge, taking into account the experience of teachers, the students lifeworld and the social representation of reality. To this end, it is necessary to articulate proposals that emphasize the confluence, interaction and integration of knowledge, that reveal new relationships and perspectives in order to address and understand the current world, characterized by the complex, diverse, the multiple and the sensitive.
Keywords : Curriculum rationality; transformation.
