Porthidium lansbergii rozei is a subspecies of a genus of vipers with an ample distribution in the country. However, until now it had not been reported for Anzoategui State, Venezuela. Although the available data suggest that it inhabits semixeric and xeric environments, recent observations or collected material not yet cataloged, confirm its presence in pre-montane and montane coastal environments, and some aspects of its natural history and taxonomy are documented for this region.
