Resumen

SALGUEIRO, Luis Manuel  y  RODRIGUEZ-AC, Alexis. An old touch, may be roughly new: reconsidering ophidic envenomations and natural protectors existing in endogenous proteins from mammals and reptiles. Saber [online]. 2015, vol.27, n.3, pp.372-390. ISSN 2343-6468.

Based on the points discussed here, we can consider that all recent reports tend to suggest that there is more of a protein involved in inhibiting hemostatic activities in reptiles and mainly Didelphis gender of mammals. These proteins can exert its neutralizing ability in isolation, as units with high specificity for the enzyme. They could add their inhibitory capacity acting separately, as well as acting as sub-units under their coupling to promote its inhibition, existing as a mixture of specific inhibitors and nonspecific, acting separately or through a combination of some or all of the above.

Palabras clave : Snake envenomation; Didelphis marsupialis; Metalloproteinases inhibitors; snakes; venom.
