D'ARMAS, Haydelba Trinidad; REYES, Dilia; RANAUDO, María Antonieta  y  YANEZ, Dayanis. Lipid composition of muscular tissue of the fish species Mylossoma duriventre, Pimelodus blochii and Pygocentrus cariba from Manaticito channel, Apure state, Venezuela. Saber [online]. 2015, vol.27, n.3, pp.391-400. ISSN 2343-6468.

Comparative evaluation of the lipid content of the fresh water fish species Mylossoma duriventre, Pimelodus blochii and Pygocentrus cariba species, from Manaticito River channel (Apure state, Venezuela), was made during the dry, rainy and transition seasons. For the total lipids, determined by gravimetry, P. blochii showed the highest content (1.75 and 4.08 % m/m) during dry and transition seasons, but P. blochii (0.84 % m/m) had a similar concentration to M. duriventre (0.87% m/m) in the rainy season. The several classes of lipids present in the studied species were identified and quantified by automated thin layer chromatography (TLC-FID), finding high concentrations of triacylglycerols during the dry and transition seasons, especially for M. duriventre specie (79.70 and 74.09 %, respectively); phospholipids showed a lower content regarding triacylglycerols, prevailing in P. cariba specie (54.78 and 45.48 %); cholesterol and free fatty acids were found in smaller proportions, whereas phospholipids were predominant in the species collected during the rainy season and found in greater proportion in the M. duriventre (69.32 % ) muscle tissue.

Palabras clave : Lipids; triacylglycerols; phospholipids; cholesterol; free fatty acids.
