BARRETO ALCOBA, Carmen e SALMASI VILLARROEL, Nadima. The challenge of knowing: a dilemma between the academic and the empirical knowledge. Saber [online]. 2015, vol.27, n.3, pp.498-503. ISSN 2343-6468.
The dwelling of knowledge is an enigma that is still unsettled. Thus, the appropriateness or not of certain knowledge is put under discussion. Academy assumes that science lies in its spaces and therefore, to approach Knowledge, we must go through classrooms, laboratories, libraries, amphitheaters. However, there are free, open spaces, without strict rules or poses, which generate knowledge that humans need to solve daily lives problems; to live, to be happy. The academy is nurtured of the latter even though she does not recognize it; when assumed as owner of the Knowledge, it tends to disconnect from those essential aspects of reality and its necessary understanding. In this paper, we address from a particular perspective, doing exegesis of the texts consulted, to discuss about what has happened and is happening between scientific and empirical knowledge. The purpose is to inquire about other possibilities to investigate. Debating, we conclude that alternate routes should emerge to facilitate a harmonious coexistence between that knowledge surnamed "ethno" and those called scientists. In this theoretical-reflective exercise, we favor a notion of research that even from the academy, must be respectful of other knowledge and lead to claim the Knowledge. It is a commitment for life, for a wise humanity that may "rest" in the globalized world through ICT as a possibility for Being and Knowing.
