A report is made of a case of corn flakes infestation by the insect plague Lasioderma serricorne (tobacco beetle) (Coleoptera: Ptinidae) into a dwelling of an urban semiarid area from Falcon state, Venezuela. Potential of acquiring intestinal canthariasis or scarabiasis (beetle disease) by accidental consumption of uncooked cereals infested with this beetle is commented.
